Japanese face Massage originates from Japan where it used to be called Anma. Anma was the word for Massage in Japan. When the Emperor decided to tax all Anma practitioners the word disappeared. In the Eastern Philosophy, health and beauty are seen as one, so when a person radiates true health, they appear beautiful, and the face is an indicator of this.

The face massage is a combination of Anma techniques, the original Japanese face massage, which means rubbing, and also acupressure techniques, which concentrates on specific acupressure points, or tsubos on the face.

There are four stages to the massage;
1) Massage to the neck,
2) Massage to the face,
3) Meridians
4) Lymphatic drainage.

8 out of the 14 meridians are worked. Meridians are basically energy channels and this energy can be accessed at certain points along the meridian, called acupressure points or 'tsubos'. It is, at these tsubos where the energy pools, and by pressing them gently it sends an electrical charge of energy to clear the blockage. By clearing the blockage in one place it will affect and clear the other places. A little like a road system, where you have motorways, B roads and connections. If there is a blockage on the motorway, it can have an effect on the B roads and the connections. Once that blockage is cleared all the traffic starts to flow again. This is the same principle in the body where the energy is able to flow again freely. And in doing so we are balancing the health of the whole person and the face will naturally become more radiant and glowing.

Ridoki Steel Rollers can be used during the massage and these have many flat points; this helps to stimulate pressure points and reflex areas of the face efficiently. They also make the skin more receptive to moisturiser. When used at the beginning of the massage they help to warm up the tissues and ‘wake up’ the meridian points. It is also said that they stimulate the epidermis, improve circulation which in turn will improve the elasticity.

Massaging the tsubos improves the condition of the skin, diminishes wrinkles and improves muscle tone. It also activates facial nerves and increases the flow of Ki and blood to the face. The Japanese Face Massage is like a “full body” massage, giving a natural facelift and is a deeply relaxing experience. It works on; the physical face, the physical Body and the emotions.

Reflexology In the City Centre

This is where the client is weight bearing and the top of the feet or hands are worked. This provides deeper access to reflex points making the treatment even more effective. There appears to be a faster and more direct line of communication between the reflexes and the parts of the body when the feet are weight bearing. As well as that congestion in another part of the body can be very quickly overridden. VRT helps to sensitise the reflex and magnify the response by clearing a pathway for the reflex and by opening up a zone. A little like unblocking a blocked pipe.

ART uses other areas of the hands, such as the knuckles to make firm contact. Various contacts used are – sliding, constant pressure, and reflex rotary, pulsing & rubbing. Some of you reading this will crinch at the idea of knuckles being used and have images of brute force bordering on torture. This is a shame, because the knuckles are extremely efficient. When used correctly and with the proper support in many instances offers a far better reflex contact than the usual and more traditional finger/thumb walking technique.

"For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, 'Because I am not the hand, I do not belong to the body,' that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, 'Because I am not the eye, I do not belong to the body,' that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the organs in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single organ, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, 'I have no need of you,' nor again the head to the feet, 'I have no need of you.' If one member suffers, all suffer together. If one member is honoured, all rejoice together." I Corinthians 12:14-21, 26 R.S.V. From Better Health with Foot Reflexology by Dwight C Byers

Reflexology Near the City Centre

A little while ago, I became aware of Neuroflexology. John C F Moorhouse is the originator of Neuroflexology. He was a qualified reflexologist himself and ran a very successful clinic from his home. Following his illness and difficulties in continuing treating clients in the conventional way for reflexology he developed this wonderful treatment and wrote his first book “Re-thinking Reflexology” which was published in 2003.

Neuroflexology is a natural complementary therapy designed to switch on the body's own 'healing' system to repair the body. It is practised on the feet. The method involves pressure from fingers and thumbs on specific areas of the feet and lower leg.
Neuroflexology works by reducing inflammation on the main nerves of the spine. This in turn allows the body’s own messenger system to work efficiently allowing the body’s own healing processes to take place. The treatment takes around 10 - 15 minutes and is then followed by a rest period that allows the body to respond.

Reflexology is not just a remedial therapy for the sick. Most importantly it should form a very important part of preventative medicine in the same way as regular exercise, relaxation and good nutrition. Reflexology improves health and well-being and brings about homeostasis. Because of this it aids better sleeping, relaxes you, relieves stress and tension and gives a feeling of well being.

Therapies . Hopi

Ear Candling Near Fallowfield Centre

This is an ancient therapy that has been handed down to us by many civilisations. We are told that the Greeks used these for cleansing, purifying and healing on a spiritual level. Much later the amazing benefits of the candles on a physical level were discovered. It is the Native American Hopi Indians of North Arizona and their practice of the ear candle treatment that reached the rest of the world. The Hopi’s were the first settled Indians in North America. For many centuries they lived in harmony with nature and the original universal laws passed down to them.

The ear candle is an all-natural product, measuring about 20 cm long, with a burning length of 14cm. Even today they are prepared according to a traditional formula. Their clear hand crafted differences in colour and length must be seen as a special feature of an all natural product. Each candle is constructed of organically grown flax, honey extracts, beeswax therapeutic herbs, including camomile, sage, Hypericum [St john’s Worth] as used by the Hopi Indians. For this the Hopi Candle, a cylindrical hollow tube with no wick is lit and inserted into the entrance to the ear, creating moderate suction action which lightly manipulates the tympanic membrane. It works on a chimney principle drawing any impurities to the surface where they can then be removed.

Thermo Auricular Therapy equalises the pressure in the head and ears, making this an ideal treatment for many conditions. Relaxes and calms in cases of excessive excitement and stress symptoms. It helps with any upper respiratory tract, head and ear problems.

Reflexology Close to Manchester City Centre

Reflexology has a history spanning nearly 5000 years and has been practised by the Egyptians, Chinese and Indian cultures. Evidence for this is shown in a physician’s tomb in Saqqara, Egypt. It is believed that reflexology was possibly brought to the West after Marco Polo opened up the Silk Roads from China in the 13th Century. Dr. Joe Shelby-Riley and Dr. William Fitzgerald discovered “Zone Therapy” in the early 1900. This is the application of pressure on certain points (reflexes) which would relieve pain in a corresponding area. Eunice Ingham, a Physiotherapist who worked closely with Dr. Shelby-Riley was fascinated by this concept and started developing her foot reflex theory in the early 1930’s. To avoid this unique method being lost and also ensuring the passing on of this unique method, the IIR was formed.

Reflexology is the classical and more orthodox way of finger/thumb-walking technique that forms the foundation of this therapy. Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas on the hands and feet that correspond to all the organs, glands and parts of the body. Reflexology is a unique method of using thumb and fingers to work these areas.

Energy Healing in Fallowfield

Surrounding our body we have an energy field, and in this energy field we have our emotions, thoughts as well as physical injury and illness. Our energy field is part of the collective energy field, which means everybody else on our beautiful planet. We also have emotional stresses, such as anger, depression and happiness. We have mental aspects of rigid thinking or fluid thinking. We now also have many seen and unseen technological and environmental factors that impact the energy field. Then we have the spiritual energies of our higher self. So, all of this is contained within the collective energy field. These condition the energy field into what we think and feel and these can produce health or illness. So, for example if there is a lot of stress or conflict or trauma in an area, it will have an affect on the area and the people because we are connected on the collective level. So all these condition the energy of the energy field and make us who we are.

We are all connected AND everything is connected.

We have seven main chakra centres in our body (and there are many more smaller chakras or nadis) and when these are open, healthy and clear, everything in your life appears to be running smoothly. When they become clogged, they start to slow down and the vibration becomes weak. The body goes out of balance and this can show up as a physical symptom showing up in a particular area of your body. Or it can show up as an emotional or psychological symptom affecting your outlook on life. It is very important to keep these energy centres, these chakras working at their optimum level.

This energy is all around us all the time and we cannot live without this energy. It enters the body through the chakras and gets distributed further through all the other much smaller chakras (also known as nadis) throughout the entire body. The body basically draws whatever energy it needs. So, this is how the energy gets into our body and helps to maintain health or disease. When we have energy flowing through all the chakras (nadis or balance centres), the person is experiencing a sense of health and well being, even though the same situation or the same problems are still there. Because of the healing that has taken place, someone is able to think more clearly, can stand back and look at the bigger picture. A challenge that may have looked impossible to resolve will now look possible to resolve, because the mind is clearer and the body is in balance. Today, more than ever our bodies are being knocked and bumped around and thrown out of balance on a daily basis. This requires the awareness on our part as well as the dedication and commitment to find the healing that works to bring our bodies back into balance. It requires us to take accountability and responsibility for own lives and our own health and wellbeing. It is up to to us whether we are willing to take that step and make that choice.

When healing takes place you are able to realign your body and awareness to its natural state of Being

Wellbeing In the City Centre

It is important to understand Reflexology and all the treatments offered here work in conjunction with Traditional Medical Treatment. A patient should never come off any prescribed medication or discontinue seeing or seeking out a Medical Doctor. Tsuboki together with other treatments offered here work hand in hand with Traditional Medical Advice and Treatment and should compliment not replace it.

Remember, that there will be times where you may not experience much difference or have any reactions or just a few reactions. Be assured that healing has and is taking place. Some people feel totally alive, refreshed and energetic after Tsuboki, Reflexology, Energy Healing or Ear Candling or they can feel deeply relaxed and a little drained and just want to go to sleep. Everyone will react differently and every session will be slightly different in some way. You will leave relaxed, very calm and at peace.

It is also important to remember that no illness ever resulted from a single cause. There are always several causes present. It stands to reason that there is not a single method of healing therapy. Best results in healing come from the combination of therapies.

Finding answers to illness is an art passed down through the generations. The causes of modern diseases are harder to identify now than ever before and that is, if discovered at all, and all the various sources of high-tech diseases have become lost in today's technological dance shuffle. As time marches forward, it is time to reclaim the healing techniques of old fashioned medicine. And pass forward to the next generation that in order to unlock the doors of future health we must find the keys from the past.

All children aged 16 and under need to be accompanied by an adult.
